Oh, say, have you seen, by the dawn's early light . . .

Some sights from my early morning run

A memorial statue remembers Mamaroneck's fallen firefighters.

One of many classic cottages that line Long Island Sound.

The local high school.

The oh-so-colorful Trader Joe's - tiki heaven in the form of a grocery store.

Enjoying New Walk City

In what sounds like the lead-in to a classic joke, Jo and I walked into a dive of a bar on 9th Ave looking for a six-foot-seven Kiwi (but couldn't find him).

So, ended up walking through a jam-packed Times Square instead.

People everywhere. High on Fourth of July celebrations (and other substances).

Thanks very much HSBC.

We asked them about getting a credit card to start building a credit history/rating here in the USA.

They wrote back and said 'sorry we can't give you a line of credit because you don't have a credit history/rating' here.

Um, we know. That's why we asked.

Guess I'll just pretend I'm a 19-year-old student and they'll jump at giving me a $10,000 card with no strings attached (apart from a nasty interest rate surprise at the end of the month).

Perhaps HSBC should spend less on their 'global/local bollocks' ads and start investing in their customers? Just a thought.
